However, for each project we evaluate the most appropriate software given the project criteria, starting information, and the needed endproducts. We frequently show the firms who hire us how we do it so that they can do it for themselves the next time - kind of works us out of a job, but we still get plenty of work, possibly partly because of this approach. Thus, we are happy to do the modeling in, say, your VectorWorks, or your old AutoCAD 14, or even your new Autodesk ArchitecturalDesktop2005 and Revit, and show you all our tips and techniques along the way if you wish.
3D Modeling is at the core of what we do at Architectural CADD - it is the basis for our rendering/animation/virtual environment visualization, for out energy analysis, and for our design work. We even use 3D tricks to get 2D production drawings done faster. Additionally we teach all this to designers.
We can create 3D building models very quickly, and, if you wish, we can do the work in your design firm, even on your computers, showing you how we do it, as we do it.
We do 3D CADD modeling primerily in ArchiCAD,
DataCAD, AutoCAD (ACIS solid modeling), and VectorWorks. We also make
use of 3D Studio, Viz and Max, and SketchUp. Occasionally we will use a
number of other 3D modeling programs depending on the specific
application.
