Description:

3HTI- Florida’s premier ArchiCAD distributor will be conducting a two-day ArchiCAD workshop in Orlando, Florida on September 14 and 15. This two-day course will cover how to use Archicad 10 for all phases of a project -- from conceptual design, through production drawings and construction administration.

The course will be taught by Professor Geoffrey Moore Langdon the author of  "ArchiCAD for AutoCAD Users"  Professor Langdon is an Architect, Engineer and Interior Designer at  Architectural CADD Consultants  and publisher of the online learning resource  "CADD Tutorials Online".  He is an expert in numerous Architectural CAD packages and has taught the ArchiCAD Virtual Building Model to hundreds of Architectural, Engineering and Construction professionals.  

The cost of the 2-day course is $700 per student. Reservations must be made in advance by credit card. Reservations are fully refundable until September 1, 2006. After September 1, 2006 reservations are non-refundable.

Two Day Basic ArchiCAD Course Description
The course starts with a 3 hour overview of the many capabilities of ArchiCAD, then each seminar attendee will create their own building project along with the instructor. We introduce a conceptual technique, show you how it works, and several examples of how it is used in creating various types of drawings or models. Then each attendee makes use of that technique in their own project, and, finally, together we go over a review to cover why and how various approaches work, then go on to the next conceptual technique.

Conceptual Techniques Covered :

* How to use the various drawing and modeling aids
* Many issues of creating different types of walls, doors, windows, stairs
* Quasi-automatically generating Sections, Elevations, and Details
* Rendered perspectives, and walk-through animations
* How to deal with complex roofs and dormers
* How to design multi-story buildings
* Custom stairs and steps
* Detailed custom furniture (as well as how to find already done ArchiCAD furniture online)
* How to use the automatic wood framing ability
* How to autotrace scans of hand drawings into ArchiCAD
* How to convert 2D AutoCAD drawings almost instantly into 3D ArchiCAD models
* How to export both 2D and 3D drawings from ArchiCAD to AutoCAD
* How to do lighting studies

Space Planning, Design Techniques, Multi-Story Buildings, Layer
Issues, Roofs and Slabs, Rendering, Animation Walkthroughs, Creating

Day 2 - morning
Plot Sheet Layouts with PlotMaker, Custom Objects, Detail Drawing,
PhotoRendering, Window/Door Schedules and Legends, Drawing Titleblock
Sheets, Lights/Shadows, 3D Select Image Items, Online Resources

Day 2 - afternoon
Lineweights, Foundation Plans, Image Overlay (Scan-to-CADD), Rotated
Grids, QuicktimeVR, Solid modeling (subtract element- sophisticated 3D
modeling techniques) Projects specific to areas of interest chosen by
seminar attendee -- such as - site and terrain modeling, interior
design elevations, photogrametrics (Align View), sun studies, TeamWork
collaboration, custom stair railings, etc.
