Note from Architectural CADD : One of the most powerful architectural CADD packages available, with many interlinkable programs for other specialized industries ranging from mechanical engineering to structures. It is sophisticated, expensive, complex software - sold primarily as "Enterprise Software" to large AE offices. The vanilla "MicroStation" runs #2 to AutoCAD in many market sectors - particularly building engineering, though on a feature to feature comparison they usually beat AutoCAD. The TriForma add-on introduced the ability to create custom architectural elements with sophisticated control planes, all very flexibly, and, essentially, replaced the former architectural add-ons. The new "Architecture for ..." version, as of Summer 2001, introduces libraries of pre-made TriForma walls - windows - doors - stairs and much much more, all to make the doing of buildings easier.

BENTLEY AND ARCHITECTURAL COMPUTER SERVICES
TO IMPROVE INTEGRATION BETWEEN THEIR PRODUCTS
Bentley Systems Incorporated announced Architectural Computer Services Incorporated and Bentley plan to increase coordination between Bentley's MicroStation TriForma and the American Institute of Architect (AIA's) MASTERSPEC product. This integration will help automate the production of specifications and improve users, abilities to produce accurate specifications, modeling, and drawing documentation.

A recent venture-capital investment of US$15 million by Bachow & Associates raised some eyebrows.
