Note from Architectural CADD :  Envisioneer is a 3D parametric architectural CADD software oriented towards builders, architects, and interior designers.  With it, you create a virtual building model with architectural elements such as walls, windows, doors, staircases, and the software will automatically generate plans, sections, elevations, details, and rendered perspectives

Comments from Architectural CADD : Cadsoft is also the developer of the high end AutoCAD add-on called APDesign which competes head to head with Autodesk ArchitecturalDesktop, and of CADsoft Build oriented towards builders.  The new Envisioneer software strikes us as a kind of ultra-light ArchiCAD, in that it works in a similar way to ArchiCAD, but does not have the overwhelming feature set that ArchiCAD has.  For many builders, and interior designers, in particular, Envisioneer could be the ideal solution.   While not marketing Envisioneer as "BIM" software per-se, Envisioneer certainly does have a number of features classically associated with high-end BIM software, such as automatic cost analysis, wood framing and wood cut lists, space planning and so on.
