BricsNet Architecturals was released as of March 12, 2000. The IntelliCAD version is ready now, and the AutoCAD 14/2000 versions are scheduled to be ready in April 2000.

The specification of its new BricsNet Architect product is available from http://www.bricsnet.com/ . BricsNet Architect is a new high-end architectural solid modeling solution for AutoCAD and Visio's IntelliCAD. BricsNet has plans for an IPO later this year.


BricsNet, Visio, EVOLV and AEC Info will hold a joint press conference on Wednesday May 26th from 12.00-1.00 in Room 306B. At the press conference BricsNet will announce and demonstrate its new ACIS-based architectural modeling solution for IntelliCAD which is due to ship later this year. BricsNet will also explain its strategy towards integration of software, services and content for the worldwide building industry. The preliminary agenda includes:

BricsNet, formerly known as Brics, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire BuildSoft, a leading provider of structural engineering products. The products will be integrated with the new BricsNet architectural products for IntelliCAD and AutoCAD. As a former Bentley Strategic Affiliate for the Building Engineering, BricsNet has developed the core technology for the award winning MicroStation TriForma product. The announcements are in line with the company's strategy to become a worldwide provider of software, contents and services for the worldwide building industry. Last week BricsNet announced the following:

- The company name has changed from Brics to BricsNet

- Maarten van Emmerik has joined as CTO and Executive Vice President

- The company has increased its captial with 7.1 million Euro

- BricsNet has acquired an equity position in the vertical internet portal AEC Info from Canada

- BricsNet has acquired an equity position in the project extranet provider EVOLV from the USA

- It will announce new products for IntelliCAD and AutoCAD at the A/E/C systems Show

BricsNet Acquires BuildSoft

BricsNet of Belgium intends to acquire BuildSoft, a developer of structural engineering software. The acquisition becomes effective upon the completion of BricsNet initial public offering at EASDAQ scheduled for the second or third quarter this year. Established in 1989, BuildSoft offers a suite of products that enable engineers to calculate forces and deformations in steel, wooden, and concrete structures.

The agreement with BuildSoft is consistent with BricsNet's strategy to become a worldwide provider of software, services, and content for the building industry. The company developed the core technology for Bentley System's TriForma architectural design software. BricsNet intends to release new products for AutoCAD and IntelliCAD later this year. http://www.bricsnet.com


BricsNet today released the specifications of its new BricsNet Architect product on the company's web site (http://www.bricsnet.com/). BricsNet Architect is a new high-end architectural solid modeling solution for AutoCAD and Visio's IntelliCAD. Some of the key features include:

1. Free form 3D architectural solid modeling based on the ACIS kernel

2. Automatic generation of 2D drawings with exact intersection geometry

3. Integrated volumetric and surface quantity calculation

4. Connectivity between building elements such as walls, floors and roofs

5. Native support of DWG through IntelliCAD and AutoCAD

6. Programmability with Visual Basic for Applications

7. Native support for Windows, OLE and COM

BricsNet Architect will be demonstrated at A/E/C SYSTEMS '99 in Los Angeles in booth #2327. Members of the press and analysts are invited to attend the press conference on Wednesday May 26 at 12.00 hrs.
