The Designers 3D CAD Shootout 1999

Judging

Judging

There will be a number of categories for judging, (on the 2D production drawings, 3D modeling, design, and several that rate the software the Team uses) with the best overall CADD software having the highest total grades which will win the Architectural CADD Cup.

Voting results and the designs will be then posted here on the World Wide Web.

Evaluation of the work of the Teams and their CADD software will be done by two seperate groups, akin to the House and Senate, namely the Audience as a whole, and a panel of expert Judges on a jury. The judges primary job is to be there the entire time with checklists on clipboards making sure the Teams really do what they are supposed to do. The judges secondary job is to grade the Teams on twenty different categories. Their third job is to act as the Senate for the voting on the overall winner category. The audience gets to participate as well and fills out a card with several questions.

The Judges

The judges on the jury will consist of a panel of a dozen or so experts in architectural CADD design systems. They will have a checklist of items to score on each Team.

The Jury for the Design Shootout is divided into two groups -

Jury Graders (who will actually be there in LA grading) and

Jury Advisors (who are experts and architects who can advise and give us insight via our jury internet forum).
