BSA Committee Chairs,  this year for the Designers 3D CAD Challenge, held in November at Build Boston 2003,  we are planning on doing the event as a classic charrette for a pro-bono project (though using CADD).  It will be open to all individuals and teams using whatever machines and software they wish.   Advantages of doing the charrette with CADD are not only the potential speed and 3D visualization aspects you would expect, but also we will be able to project what is being done, so that we all can all benefit by a clearer view and archive of the work.

Ideally, we are seeking a project - preferably a building -  or perhaps a site needing some kind of building - that can, and should be, done for a community or non-profit organization on a pro-bono basis.  An adaptive reuse of a warehouse/mill/firehouse, or a problem site in the middle of a disadvantaged neighborhood would be perfect.

If any of you know of such an organization or site or building needing help please let us know.  In any case, keep your ears open to any
potential projects over the next few months.  We hope to publicize the project by October.  We would like to involve the mayor and community leaders of whereever the project is done.
