Designers in the Charrette

This is where we need volunteers most of all.  In the past, teams were invited from specific groups, and limited to one team using each CADD software.  This time, since the primary purpose is to do a real project and help those children, we invite all designers to join in.  There are no limits - no quotas.  Use whatever software you like.  Bring your laptop computer  (or your whole system if you need to), and connect to our network.  Check our "Answers to Questions" section for some of the details.  We will switch a huge projection screen between the various designers as they are working so we all can see the work in progress, as well as for presentations at the end.  There is no entry fee for these volunteers.  You do need to contact us beforehand and tell us what type of equipment you are planning on bringing so we can plan the setup properly.

Designers not using CADD should team up with a person using CADD so that we can project that work on the big screen.

Reasons you should take on this design challenge :

* help out a great charity cause
* show off your design skill
* show off what you can do with your CADD software
* challenge yourself to complete a design in just 3 hours
* earn AIA credits
* your design may get chosen for actual construction
* have fun creating in virtual reality a place for kids to have fun
* get a presenters badge and priviledges
Presenters at BuildBoston can attend one other seminar free,
          can use the speakers lounge,
get to wear an impressive presenters name badge and ribbon

Interested in bringing a laptop and designing in charrette on Wednesday November 19 ?

Participation is free, but you do need to register, and there are indeed benefits in addition to helping out a good cause.

Audience Observer

Attending this event as an audience member is done by registering for BuildBoston event number  B05  listed in the exposition catelog as well as online.  In addition to being entertaining, and interesting to see design develop before your eyes, it promises to be very informative not only about the relative abilities of the various CADD programs but you can also learn about various techniques and work-arounds needed to bend those CADD programs to do what is needed.

Interested in being in the audience ?

The event is listed as BuildBoston event number  B05  --  click on www.buildboston.com   to register
