The Designers 3D CAD Challenge 2001 |

Your competition program was a wonderful and prescient idea. It was timely. Just this Sunday the Times Magazine, devoted to the new New York, had an article in which the outlines of 3 or 4 parti's were drawn. They were described as the 'only approaches', but while there may be more, certainly adaptation and refinements could be made. My point is that this was published within days of your competition event deadline. It was the right time!
I hope you are satisfied - thrilled - with our enclosed CD. We tried to show, with DataCAD and 3DStudio Max, our idea of the whole complex, with respect for those who died, and respect for why they died, working in the icon of world trade. And how this can be made an integrated and vibrant part of the downtown fabric of the city. We concentrated on the overall urban issues, the visual result is in many ways a sophisticated "bubble diagram".
DataCAD was an integral part of our ability to turn our ideas into drawings quickly. The DataCAD interface combines a simple, yet powerful 3DSolid modeling system, with intuitive and efficient layer, view, and 3D to 2D drawing generation. These are major advantages.
