2001

The 6th Designers 3D CAD Challenge

with Architectural CADD Systems

2001 Challenge of the Architectural CADD Cup
Resources

Note : This section still actively being set up. There will be sections for maps, site models, site photographs, engineering reports, innovative new building products (such as photovoltaic glass), links to the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) design guidlines, and much more. All this is accessible to designers who register to enter this competition.

Current estimates are that it will take a minimum of 18 months to clear the site - thus any ideas for the site now are entirely speculative, advisory, and hypothetical - but suggesting them for all to see in virtual reality can possibly be psychologically uplifting and inspirational for the entire nation.

Two portions of a WTC memorial are already on the site

1. A Statue of a Fireman - contributed by the State of Minnesota  (currently on the WTC site on a flatbed truck, we will post pictures of it here when available)

2. The sole surviving 7 story wall section of the WTC North Tower  (there is serious talk of retaining the modern-gothic steel frame as at least a portion of a future memorial)
