The 6th Designers 3D CAD Challengewith Architectural CADD Systems2001 Challenge of the Architectural CADD Cup |
How this event can generate money for the New York disaster funds
Though not tutorials per-se the screencams of your creation of the design are indeed valuable - both to experienced users of your particular CADD software to learn some new tricks and techniques, and to firms who don't have that CADD software but who want to evaluate it or compare it against another software to see if it is appropriate for their particular design firm needs.
Whereas true tutorials regularly sell for $1 per minute and and 20 minutes of these would be $20, these Design Challenge screencams, which we expect will be less formal and rigorous, will sell for $15 (thus we hope firms evaluating software will buy several different ones).
Of this $10 on each download is contributed towards the Disaster Fund for New York City, contributed in your name. The rest of your commission is $4 on each download, which you may opt to add to your charity contribution.
There are thousands of firms interested in these techniques and tutorials, and the Design Challenge web site normally registers over 200,000 hits per week during the month after each competition. Thus, if, say, only 100 people actually download your movies, that is still $14 x 100 = $1,400. The income possibilities generated by every single competitor, thus, is significant and could possibly be even several times higher.
Using a popular CADD software many people are interested in, and doing a good design that the jury recognizes with prizes would of course increase the number of downloads of your particular movies. The ordering and downloading of (and your commission for) the movies is all handled automatically on the web site of our sponsor www.CADD.bigstep.com.
On a non-monetary level, this event is also meant to help out not just New York but the world community on a more spiritual level - giving hope and inspiration to a new generation.
Thus, this event can potentially generate a great deal of monitary help for the disaster relief funds while simultaneously helping out the profession and the world community.
