Specific Requirements for Final Project
Plans, Sections, Elevations, Details, Perspectives
Layouts with Titleblocks
(Walkthrough Animation)
Web Portfolio
Required Elements :
Custom door / window
Custom 3D element (at least one) - stair, chair, table, lighting fixture, fireplace
Custom Texturemap and/or picture element
Project Theme :
Past Themes : Bed and Breakfast Inn, Shopping Mall center area, Hogwarts Castle, Church
Wizards and Witches Cafe
Detailed Description of requirements :
1.) Each space/object should be documented as -
- plan, section, elevation - as construction documents
- perspectives (at least 2) at least one of which is rendered with materials
2.) The students may use a variety of means to produce the final results, including hand techniques and digital imaging, as advised by the instructor, but the core genesis should be from 3D CADD modeling
3.) Each week there will be a quiz on the reading concerning CADD technology, CADD office management, and techniques.
4.) Each student shall develop a custom design for the spaces and detail items - they should design it inspired by the theme of the house to which they will be assigned
5.) Each student shall also develop one particular common space in a team with the other members of their assigned house - these are larger spaces which will be shared by all the students
6.) The final animation walk-throughs developed by each student should
include views of each of the spaces they developed - with the required
detail objects included - and include views of the common areas developed
by the student teams
Each student is expected to produce, in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, etc., an
extensive set of working drawings
of a design project they completed in a previous semester, or a new
design in the theme mentioned above.
The exact drawings needed will vary depending on the project selected,
to be approved in writing by the instructor,
but should include drawings such as:
Coverpage with symbols, abbreviations
Demolition plan
Construction Plan
Reflected Ceiling & Lighting Plan
Finish Plan
Longitudinal Section
Transverse Section (with measurements and notes)
Interior Elevations, Exterior - signage if applicable
Interior Architectural Details- Staircase, Fireplace, Columns, Built-in
Cabinetry
Door types, Window types, Partition types
Furniture Plan
Students may use their previous semester's project such as the Loft
or Cafe or Hotel,
or alternate with permission of the instructor.
The students will need to submit the drawings package in a 11"
x 14" or 8.5"x11" format.
Please submit two copies, one copy is for the school.
