AutoCAD Training in the Boston Area

BSA Design Software Committee cohosts Architectural CADD College 2000 October 25 - 26, 2000
tutorials in DataCAD, AutoCAD ArchitecturalDesktop, ArchiCAD, VectorWorks Architect, DesignWorkshop, and IntelliCAD

Tutorial Seminars on Design Software

Our plan is to offer specific tutorial seminar classes every month on particular CADD programs taught by members of our committee as well as by speakers we bring in. The classes will be inexpensive and short. Some of these tutorials may even be repeated in other states. For those who wish to share their talents and teach a seminar, we will help arrange it, and publicize it, but you get to keep almost all the revenue.

Topics should be short, specific, and sweet, and oriented towards architecture, such as "how to use PaperSpace in AutoCAD", "setting up symbol libraries in DataCAD", "doing details with MiniCAD/VectorWorks", "Creating intelligent curved walls with GDL in ArchiCAD", "rendering tips and tricks for LightScape", or "starting 3D modeling in DesignWorkshop".

DataCAD Courses

The following half-day courses are intended for professional architects, engineers, and contractors who rely on DataCAD for producing design development, contract, and presentation drawings.

Advanced Production Drawing

TNG-228P 1:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Friday, 28 April 2000

$395.00

This secondary course is intended for designers who are already familiar with DataCAD but who would like to sharpen their productivity skills. Students will learn critical shortcuts and drawing organization techniques designed to streamline the documentation process. This course covers aspects of DataCAD as it applies to professional practice through an intensive 4-hour program. Students will receive the Macro Tabouret and the Advanced Production Drawing video training tape as part of the course materials.

3D Modeling

TNG-329A 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Saturday, 29 April 2000

$395.00

This 4-hour course is intended to maximize the use of DataCAD 3D as a design tool. This course demonstrates how to create a three-dimensional model from a two-dimensional drawing or design sketch. Emphasis will be on incorporating 3D modeling into the design process from schematic design through working drawings. Preparing 3D models for transfer to Renderize Live will also be covered. This course is recommended for users who are already adept with DataCAD's 2D functions. Students will receive the Macro Tabouret and the 3D Modeling video training tape as part of the course materials.

Rendering and Animation

TNG-429P 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, 29 April 2000

$395.00

This 4-hour course is an extension of the 3D Modeling course and is intended to introduce the student to photorealistic rendering and animation methods. This course covers the use of Renderize Live including views, rendering, lighting, shadows, and animation sequences. This course is recommended for users who are already adept with DataCAD's 3D functions. Students will receive the Macro Tabouret and the Rendering and Animation video training tape as part of the course materials.
