The DataCAD 9 Project Book is targeted mostly at beginning students who are just starting with DataCAD. It may also be useful for professionals who have no previous DataCAD experience. (Experienced users should consider the book by Mike Smith and Rick Morse, published by McGraw Hill.) The DataCAD 9 Project Book uses a learn-by-doing approach that introduces the user to the basic 2D and 3D functions through a series of projects designed to get new users into DataCAD as quickly as possible. The projects include very detailed step-by-step instructions. Each project adds new DataCAD functions and features as the user gains experience with the DataCAD interface.

The Visual Reality Book also leads beginners through a series of step-by-step tutorials. The book starts by having the user create a simple DataCAD model. This model is then used to gain experience with most of the Visual Reality rendering and animation functions.
